I grew up in Tehran, where I taught myself photography while studying engineering at university. What started as a hobby stayed with me, even as I moved on to work in marketing, and later in design and UX. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, photography slowly found its way from the side of my life to the center of it.

Most of my work today happens on the streets and in the everyday spaces of the Bay Area. I think living between two cultures has taught me to notice small, often unseen moments. I work on both film and digital, and I print my black-and-white work in the darkroom at Foothill College, where I'm studying photography.

When I'm not photographing, I'm usually running trails in the hills nearby, which, in a way, asks for the same things as street photography: patience, attention, and time alone with my thoughts.

Alongside my personal work, I run Denj Studio, a family photography studio, where I bring the same documentary eye to families and their everyday moments.

If you'd like to work together or just talk about photography, I'd love to hear from you.
